Five Money Books Worth Every Penny

Five Money Books Worth Every Penny

This past week MSN Money writer Liz Pulliam Weston put together a list of five “money” books that are worth every penny you would spend on them. It’s a piece that is definitely worthy of your attention, since all of us need to stay current on the best approaches to managing money today.

Learning The Important Lessons

The book Stop Getting Ripped Off: Why Consumers Get Screwed and How You Can Always Get a Fair Deal, is one that I find especially interesting. The fact that an author like Bob Sullivan took the time to write a book about such an important issue to modern finance is great news for all of us. The slimy ways of scam artists and the fees that most people don’t realize are there; they are all so common in today’s economy and Sullivan does his best to help readers outwit this despicable system. Elisabeth Lemy’s Save Big: Cut Your Top Five Costs and Save Thousands is also a novel idea. Lemy drives home the point that most consumers try to work on reducing minor costs, while they let the biggest of expenses go unaddressed. In the book she speaks of ways to cut costs on housing, cars, credit, groceries, and health care. All five of these areas are rather obvious, but they really do provide a great opportunity to save thousands of dollars each year.

Financial Knowledge is Power

Today’s financial world evolves as the days go along, and as a consumer it is up to you to stay current on the best ways to thrive in this environment. Though the times may change, knowledge is still as powerful as ever!
